Still Another 50 Years
More trail construction on the 50 year trail today. This time it was a 0.5 mile re-route around a wash/archeology site. We had a small but good crew–everyone was there to work, so things went quickly.
A few good decisions were made about the trail. We generally tried to keep people on the rocks, adding whatever technical challenge we could. There is a nice little climb in there, too.
Rudy was the hero of the day, riding up Oracle to meet the group @8am.
A guy rolled up on us and asked if we built in any ledges for “us downhill types.” Uh, no we didn’t build in any car-shuttling options, if that was what he meant. Ledges are for uphill as much as they are for downhill. Perhaps they are more for “us uphill types” since more time is spent climbing than descending.
