Back in Tucson

I need to document that I rode suburban assault and did not crash. Suburbo assault is our easy in town “mountain bike ride.” The quotes are firmly in place around “mountain bike ride,” although I would consider it much closer to mountain biking than, say, Fantasy Island.

My recently dislocated pinky has still not recovered from my crash in the culvert. I recently found that I can blame my crash on Mark Flint’s ever annoying dedication to giving back to the mtb community. He trimmed portions of Finger Rock wash, including the section right before the culvert. With so much unexpected speed, what else was I to do but crash and dislocate my finger?

I also rode the Dick McGee challenges, and fared rather well with a different fork on my hard tail. I think I will eventually be riding rigid fork.

It was a nice afternoon for bike riding. Part of my mind is burning for longer, exploratory rides, but another part is still not quite ready.
