Your trip was an AWESOME read! Thanks for posting. It was quite inspiring and I wish that was something I attempted when I was younger. I'll be riding part of the AZT in mid-March, between Gardner Cyn and Colossal Cave. I know the route between Gardner Cyn and Oak Tree Cyn, but unfamiliar beyond that. Any advice, suggestions for resources, besides Andrea's book and the AZT website? Do you know if the segment just south of Twin Lakes is open to bikes yet? In the meantime, I'll continue to search around. Cheers!

Enjoyed the great adventure as if i were there(it is so well written!). We live in Valdez AK but have a place south of Tucson in Green Valley. Hope to tackle parts of the trail in the next couple years. Your story helps us decide the pieces we will tackle first. Grand Canyon will not be one of them!
Wow, our hats off to you!
