Ugh

12/25/08

Paula needed a ride out to school to finish up her report cards. School is conveniently located next to the Sweetwater Preserve, so I decided to go for a super easy ride. Still sick, but Sweetwater is the perfect place to see some great desert without raising your heart rate above 100.

I toodled around on the Behemoth and spent most of my time taking pictures of Saguaros under cloud cover.

Live, and not so live ones:

It was a great way to get out while still feeling like crap.

Sadly, on the way back I proceeded to drive the Corsica into our carport. Little did I know that the bike fell all the way back and was behind the car. Instinctively, I backed up and ran it right over:

Damages:

Fork lowers snapped in two.
Front shifter snapped off the bars.
Bent: brake lever, front rotor, middle chainring

Not bad all things considered. I rode it today for an hour and a half (with an old fork) and it seems to be OK.

Just blissfully bloging down through your pics of the desert and then “oof”, like a sock in the gut, hope the frame is 100% ok
