Wannabe photog for a day, day 1

I met up with Jim Rossi, doing a story about his road trip to southern AZ for Bike magazine. He was mainly looking for guide service, but also had no photographer. I told him I can hold a camera and push the shutter button, and he said they might throw me a bone should I get some decent shots.

We headed up the 50 year trail, did a loop of the chutes, then headed for the upper loop. Afternoon light tends to be killer up there, and there are some good rock features.

Not to mention really good riding. I didn’t have my usual 50 year trail machine (waiting for my new fork to arrive). We missed a lot of the side lines, but it was fun to think about how best to line up shots and I even had time to mess around with the manual settings on my camera. In other words, it was fun to wish I knew what I was doing.

Here are a few of the pics.

Felt more like a photoshoot than a ride in some ways, but that’s a unique thing to me, and it was great just to be out enjoying the beautiful light.
